Luluvise is a new, small, VC backed startup looking to break into the social networking space. I was hired there on a short term contract as a senior engineer to help launch the first version of their website, to very aggressive deadlines. Luluvise has only ten employees, and I was one of four engineers.
Responsibilities & Achievements
- Lead development of the frontend of their system
- Implemented backbone.js as the MVC architecture on the frontend to communicate with the Python API
- Leveraged many CCS3 features to improve the look and feel of the site
- Implemented graphic based quiz in HTML5 canvas
- Used sinon and jasmine for unit testing framework
- Used handlbars.js for easy client side dynamic templating
- Successfully launched the first version of the website to 1000 users within 2 months
- Worked in an agile environment, with daily scrums, unit testing, and code pairing
