I was hired as a senior developer to implement a resource management, and project scheduling tool. The tool was to be web-based, deployed worldwide at all of MPC’s sites, and feature a rich user experience, with a full Gantt chart and spreadsheet interface. Users can add/modify/delete tasks, and have all changes revisioned and synced worldwide instantly.

The system included a way for users to group and rotate the information that they search for into a custom tree, allows them to view all data how they need to - much like pivot tables

Responsibilities & Achievements

Worked in a senior role in a very small team to successfully implement the company’s worldwide project management system
The system used a python backend modified from Django, and used HTML5 canvas to provide an incredibly rich user experience
Built a custom javascript UI framework to manage drawing into canvas, and dispatching/receiving events from the canvas
Built a custom MVC framework built on top of a simple open source OO library
Worked in with agile (SCRUM), stakeholder meetings, test driven development (TDD), and code pairing
